The two-dimensional transient absorption spectroscopy also clearly showed a broad photo-induced absorption feature throughout 570–600 nm (figure 5(b)). In previous works self-trapping was observed through an indirect effect, i.e. through the temperature dependence of the linear absorption spec-trum [2, 3]. The temperature dependence is considered to be a signature of anharmonicity of the molecular potential energy surface.
